The Internet, and specifically YouTube, is a great place to learn how to do almost anything.

A couple of years ago I discovered Howcast. Howcast used to be an iPhone app but now exists as a YouTube channel.

Howcast produces thousands of online ‘how-to’ videos that are approximately 2 minutes in length. Howcast is an excellent source for people who want a quick video on how to do something. Alternatively, if you only have two minutes, Howcast is a great way to spend your time learning something.

Some examples of great Howcast vidoes:

1)How to Fake a Clean House:

2)How to Make Homemade Ice Cream in a Plastic Bag:

3) 10 Beauty Tips and Tricks:

By taking advantage of what the Internet has to offer, the possibilities of things to learn are limitless.

  1. At first, I thought you were referring to the hilarious HowToBasic videos! After checking out some of the videos you linked, I think that these short videos are great for those of us who are limited on time, but still want to be entertained/actually learn something new. My favorite was the “How to Fake a Clean House” 🙂

  2. I’ve never heard of this before, but these videos are great, especially if you desire to learn something new in a short amount of time. These could actually be really useful too !

  3. This is really cool. The project my partner and I did for class focuses on online education, and these sorts of videos are changing everything!

  4. There is a podcast through NPR called “How To Do Everything” where each episode covers the basics of a few random various tasks. It’s quite interesting, you should check it out!
