Google’s new layout

This is completely random but for a few days I wasn’t sure if I changed settings on my computer without realizing it or if my web browser had something to do with it. Then I realized that Google just changed their layout a little bit. I’m not really a fan of the new look, but in all honesty it’s barely any different.

“The changes are meant to make it easier to scroll through Google’s search results and present a “cleaner look,” Wiley wrote in his post. Google’s decision to transfer a design originally tailored for mobile devices to PCs also underscores the company’s increasing emphasis on smartphones and tablets.Improving consistency in design across platforms makes it easier for people to use Google search across devices, and it makes it easier for us to develop and ship improvements across the board,” Wiley wrote.?”

It’s interesting to note that one of the reasons that Google made these changes is because they wanted to appeal more to tablet and cell phone users. This shows how much the internet really is being used on not just computers.

  1. The internet is increasingly becoming more mobile. Even Facebook has now changed (for the 139280339398402th times I think, give or take a couple) and looks a lot like the app on my phone. I think that this is because, if for nothing else, the creators of these websites want to streamline their products for the comfortability and familiarity of their users.
