Within the last year, the news came out that the government was tapping into our phone calls. Edward Snowden, the man behind leaking the information, came out with the news that the government was gaining access to our phones calls, emails and tracking our moves on the internet. Although what he did affected his life so much and is said to never live in America as a “free man” again, he affected our lives because we now have to watch our every move.
This information cause outrage in society, but someone who seems really upset about it is Mark Zuckerberg, the man who found FaceBook. Yesterday an article came out saying that Zuckerberg himself actually called Obama about this situation. He called and complained about the NSA (U.S. National Security Agency) which is what tracks all that we do with our technology. Zuckerberg is extremely frustrated about the spying and hacking of the internet and said that.. “When our engineers work tirelessly to improve security, we imagine we’re protecting you against criminals, not our own government.” Zuckerberg says that this problem won’t be resolved soon, but he is trying to make it happen. I personally think it is invasion of privacy because I feel that unless they have a legitimate reason to search through your technological devices, they don’t have a right to do so.
