You may have heard that lawmakers were proposing that a “kill-switch” be created to help decrease the amount of theft of cellular devices. Well it looks like that is becoming a reality with a new anti- theft pledge that has been announced. Apple, Google, Microsoft, and others including 5 major cell phone carriers have signed the pledge. The pledge proposes after July of 2015, it will be a lot harder to steal a smartphone because users will be able to remotely brick and wipe their phones in the event of a theft.
Amazon will be entering the smartphone game with their very only smartphone. There is not much know about the phone expect for the leaks of pictures below. It is expect to have an official announcement in June and start shipping sometime in September. The rumored specs for the phone are 4.7 inch screen size, 720p display, Qualcomm Snapdragon processor and 2GB of RAM. Compared to other flagship smartphones, the Amazon’s smartphone doesn’t seem like a top tier phone. One cool feature though is that the phone has 5 front facing cameras that is suppose to give off a 3D experience. Sounds cool. Amazon is the number one retail store online so they do not need to sell in carrier stores. Also, their top products sold are their own, so they want to break even as possible with this smartphone.

Coachella, a music and arts festival is back with a new line up of artists to take one of it’s many stages to perform to a large amount of people. Coachella is a two weekend, three day festival taking place in beautiful Indio, California. It debuted back 1999 at the same time woodstock was having trouble having with a good image with riots and fires during the 99 Woodstock. The success of Coachella lead to other music festivals like Lollapalooza in Chicago and Bonnaroo in Tennessee. One of the items on my bucket list that I want to cross out is attending Coachella sometime in the future, but the closet thing is watching the live stream on Youtube, which I provided the link below. Enjoy!
Today was the release of the long waited brand new single for Michael Jackson’s posthumous album, Xscape. The single, also called Xscape sounds refreshing to hear MJ’s vocals since 5 years of his passing. The song is definitely his style. The album is executive produced by Timbaland. Check the link below to hear the track and comment what you think!
Tomorrow Audi will unveil their brand new Audi A3 model, but that is not all. There will be a special performance by M.I.A. and Janelle Monae together. Here’s the catch though, M.I.A. will be performing live in New York while Janelle will be performing live in Los Angeles. How, you may ask is this possible for them to be at the Audi even for a live performance together? Well the answer is holograms my friends. You may remember from Tupac hologram from the 2012 Coachella music festival, so this will be similar expect they are using 3D projection video technology to capture both performances. How it will look is still in question, so we just have to wait for the final performance itself. They are both performing two new songs together. If this works out well then this is a new way to perform ‘LIVE MUSIC’.
Amazon just announced their latest device to takeover your televisions. It is pretty much like Apple TV, or a Roku Box. Users can expect service from Hulu, Netflix, Prime Instant Video, Watch ESPN, and a library of over 200,000 movies and TV shows, alongside game and low-cost rentals for newer titles. The small box connects to HDTVs, having 2GB of built-in memory, 1080p HD video and Dolby Digital Plus surround sound. What stands out about it is that it has a voice activated remote for your commands while watching something and it will have the capability to connect to tablets later. Fire Tv will be priced at 99.95.
Looks like Google is doing April Foll’s Day early with the release of their Google Maps video.
They have integrated Pokemon with Google maps to create Pokemon Challenge. The winner will get a job at Googleplex by catching all the Pokemon first. I thought this was too good to be true but it actually works. Here’s a screenshot from my phone.
Apparently, the game is real short so this is not a real competition and it’s just Google trollin’ us again. Good one Google.
Coming this summer to a Regal Cinema in L.A. is 4DX technology. This is the next level in movie technology because now we can feel the movie with certain effects while wearing 3D glasses. The technology is created from a South Korean company called CJ 4Dplex. Some of the effects they show are water, wind, light, fog, and scent effects. Other countries are already experiencing 4DX technology in their movie theaters. We will have to wait and see if it is a success here in the states, or just another tacky gimmick for increased ticket prices.
